They are a member of the cucurbit family and are related to cucumbers and watermelons.
Courgettes contain potassium, vitamin C, folic acid and fibre. Meaning their good for your muscles, immune system and digestion.
You can eat courgette flowers stuffed with soft cheese and fried.
You can put courgettes into cakes, bread and sauces.
Quick recipe Grate one courgette using a cheese grater. Fry the courgette in a glug of olive oil in a frying pan for 1-2 minutes. Squeeze over the juice of 1 lemon, a handful of fresh chopped mint and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Stir through cooked pasta and grate parmesan cheese over the top.
