Who's it for? 10+ (or younger confident cooks)
What you need Ingredients + kitchen equipment
What to do Plan a menu on a piece of paper. Think about whether you are going to make a main meal, a lunch or a main meal and dessert. Look up recipes to fit your menu and make sure you've got the ingredients. Some advance planning may be needed to get the ingredients. Make sure you have permission from a grown up before you start.
Invite your guests.
Follow your recipe instructions and prepare your meal. Always make sure a grown up is around to help.
If you're making a dessert, you may need to prepare it before your main course.
Write your menu neatly for the guests and lay your table with cutlery, plates and serviettes if you have them.
Welcome your guests and ask them if they would like a drink before their meal. Serve their drinks first and then the food.
Clear their plates and serve the dessert.
Don't forget the washing up.
