The beauty of this pudding (aside from being delicious) is you can use whatever mix of summer fruits you like. Try to balance tart fruits, like blackberries, blackcurrants and red currants with sweeter summer fruits, like strawberries, cherries or even apple. Summer fruits seem to be coming in a bit early this year and you may find some blackberry bushes near you are already studded with black jewel-like berries.

Ingredients
Crumble:
125g plain flour
100g cold, unsalted butter, cut into cubes
65g caster sugar
Filling:
500g-750g of fruits (depending on size of your dish)
2 tbsp caster sugar
What to do
Grownups: Preheat the oven to 180C/gas 4.
Kids: Using a food processor, blitz the flour and butter until it resembles breadcrumbs. If you don't have a food processor, in a bowl - rub the flour and butter between your thumb and fingers until it all resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the oats and sugar. Leave the crumble to one side.
Cover the bottom of your pie dish with mixed summer fruits. We used a handful of strawberries, one chopped apple, a handful of blackcurrants, a handful of stoned cherries and 3 handfuls of blackberries). Sprinkle over the caster sugar and mix slightly.
Cover the fruit with the crumble topping.
Grownups: Place the crumble in the oven and bake for 35 minutes or until the top is golden and the juices are bubbling around the edge.
